Noor Rahman Saini

1973 , Singapore

Noor Rahman Saini is a conceptual artist who explores how portraiture can expressively represent its subjects and dwells in material meaning. He creates mainly sculptures and installation, and has exhibited his works in Singapore and Tasmania, Australia. Rahman holds a Bachelor In Contemporary Arts Degree from University of Tasmania (UTAS) and a Diploma in Arts Teaching from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). He was a valedictorian at NAFA in 2006 and awarded the Best in Spatial Practice and Best in Theory in UTAS in 2013 placing him in the Dean’s List in 2013. He is an experienced secondary school art educator with the Ministry of Education.

"I have always wondered about how to best portray the true feelings and emotions of my sitters and subject matter. I love to explore and dwell on material concerns in my artworks to evoke viewers’ thought and perception."
