Siti Nursyazana Mohd Yassin is an artist-educator whose practice revolves around the stillness of everyday objects and life. Syazana has since explored concepts of memory recollection and experiences with feelings of nostalgia. Following her years of education in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and National Institute of Education (NIE), she is committed to educating the youth on the value of art appreciation. Syazana strives to continue find a balance between teaching and artistic practice, and is an active member of Angkatan Pelukis Aneka Daya (APAD).
"This artwork explores the internal conflict between feelings of incompetence and personal growth. Illustrating elements of stepping out of comfort zones, budding growth, uncertainty, and ambition; they reflect the artist's interpretation of finding balance within oneself.
