Artist Statement

For the anniversary exhibition of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in Hanoi, my work "Garis" explores line as the fundamental element of drawing to map out composition and as a metaphor for art education. Often concealed in the finished piece, these lines form the framework that shapes structure and meaning. The artwork symbolises how art institutions and educators shape creative practices, highlighting the importance of education in nurturing artists by bringing attention to the foundational role of lines as guides in the artistic journey.
