‘Reflection’ is the Maya Gallery’s first exhibition at their new space! It also marks the Islamic month of Ramadan—a period of fasting, to renew one’s faith, reflect on one’s actions and remind us to share joy and inspirations especially during difficult times like the pandemic. The exhibition also welcomes Syawal, where Muslims celebrate the end of the month-long fast in commemoration of Eid or Hari Raya Puasa, with gratitude is forged and of bonds amongst family and friends are strengthened. A visual celebration through the eyes of various artists , ‘Reflection’ presents fine work incorporating Islamic calligraphy, mosques, local landscapes and abstract expressions across various mediums like oil, acrylic, watercolour, batik, photography, ceramics and mixed media.
