Tilen Ti does not believe in still life. His depictions of street scenes defy reality, rendered in colour that he senses rather than sees. Vivid with hues of every imaginable colour, his watercolours slyly turn familiar places into stranger, more flamboyant versions of themselves. A self-taught artist, Tilen was born in Raub, a small town in Pahang, Malaysia. He attended Saito Academy of Art in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, where he obtained a diploma in commercial art. In 2006, he moved to Singapore for the purpose of his profession as a Graphic Designer. He began painting in watercolours in 2009, and has since made a name for himself for his distinct style.

"We often seek out the new and exotic, forgetting that beauty can be found in the everyday and commonplace. An extension of his series from his fourth solo exhibition, Extra Ordinary, in 2014, Tilen Ti celebrates the little moments, familiar scenes and simple pleasures that make up so much of our lives and memories, and gives them meaning."
