APAD is proud to present Bridging Through the Age, featuring 18 artists working in pairs as an intergenerational collaborative effort. This exhibition is part of a series of exhibitions in 2022 commemorating the association’s 60th anniversary.
Bridging Through the Age showcases the culmination of intergenerational collaborative efforts between each artist-pair while addressing the marginalised issues of age-segregation. Each body of work is a manifestation of a shared experience, of unlearning and relearning techniques and differences. In hopes of bridging the generation gap, the spirit of collaborative artmaking are evidences of these efforts. Evermore, as we are living in the “age of zenosyne”, our external realities are swiftly shifting perspectives while our moments crash like tidal waves. No other time is better than now for us to be engaged and shape our future through social cohesion. Through this exhibition, we ponder and slowly become aware of how we acknowledge the metaphors we live by and that the invisible threads of relationships are indeed the strongest ties that bind.
